Hostess Brands, Inc. Inventory Management Control Specialist in Lenexa, Kansas
Hostess Brands, LLC, is a large packaged food company focused on developing, manufacturing, marketing, selling and distributing fresh baked sweet goods in the United States such as Ding Dongs®, Ho Hos®, Donettes® and Fruit Pies, in addition to Twinkies®, CupCakes, Voortman’s Cookies and Wafers.
The Inventory Management Control Specialist is responsible to work cross-functionally to help ensure proper inventory levels are available at the right time and place to meet customer demand, while reducing excess and obsolete inventory (Finished Goods and Raw Materials/Packaging). This individual identifies the exceptions driving fill rate issues (out-of-stocks) and obsolescence (aged inventory), facilitating the necessary steps across the Supply Chain to minimize impact.
The ideal candidate will have strong “hands-on” experience in an ERP/MRP environment. Excellent oral and written communication skills are vital. The individual in this role will be highly analytical and capable of performing in a very fast-paced environment. This position will report to Director of Supply Chain Planning and will be located at the corporate office in Lenexa, KS.
Build processes and tools aimed at balancing inventory and production needs and evaluation of future supply needs
Maintain a daily inventory dashboard report that reviews production receipt timing and projected inventory consumption to identify inventory gaps and constraints
Identify “HOT” loads as needed from the Bakeries as well as communicating estimated arrival and prioritization of “HOT” loads at the DC for priority unload.
Gain a detailed understanding of Inventory constraints in each Hostess Brands distribution center to be able to better serve each downstream customer
Daily cross-functional contact with Customer Service (evaluating product shortfalls), Bakery Shipping (expedited/rush shipping needs), and Distribution Centers (product arrival timing)
Facilitate daily management exception discussion with Hostess Brands DC’s and transportation teams reviewing STO needs and exceptions
Ad hoc research requests and root cause analysis on Fill Rate and E&O inventory challenges
Maintain an inventory drawdown schedule for overflow inventory management; including schedule building and communication, STO order entry, and order release to transportation/distribution prior to shipment of required loads
Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, or related field.
3+ years professional experience in planning and managing Inventory.
APICS (CPIM or CSCP) certification preferred
Experience utilizing an MRP/ERP system; SAP experience preferred
Experience utilizing a Statistical/Demand/Resource Planning system (Logility, JDA, SAP APO, etc.)
Experience within the consumer packaged goods industry is preferred
Excellent written and oral communication skills with the proven ability to communicate with all levels and functions including management and retail partners.
High level of analytical thinking and attention to detail with strong aptitude in order management.
Outstanding organizational skills with demonstrated ability to prioritize workload, and concurrently manage multiple projects.
Advanced skill in Excel and Data Warehouse proficiency in other Microsoft Office products (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
Proven ability to build productive cross-functional relationships
Flexible team player who thrives in environments requiring ability to effectively prioritize and juggle multiple concurrent projects.
