Lab Technician - Vaccine Production - Biological Manufacturing
Kelly Science and Clinical is currently recruiting for full-time, direct hire, vaccine production assistants for one of our clients in Lenexa, KS. These Lab Technicians assist in tissue and viral culture for vaccine production in a clean room laboratory environment. Viral cultures are then harvested, batched, and filled.
This position comes with full benefits where you will be eligible for Medical, Dental, 401K; as well as paid time off-- including holiday, vacation, and sick/personal time.
Responsibilities and Key Duties:
-Aseptic Technique: All laboratory processes must be performed aseptically. Procedures take place under a Grade A Laminar Air Flow hood in a clean room laboratory.
-Clean room laboratory work: Requires daily gowning with sterile hooded coveralls, goggles, face-mask, two pairs of gloves, and clean room boot coverings.
-Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs): The ability to understand and follow Marek’s Laboratory SOPs, Quality Assurance SOPs, Marek’s Laboratory Support SOPs, and other SOPs as applicable.
-Documentation: All procedures must be thoroughly documented; documentation must be legible and concurrent.
-Tissue & Viral Culture: Performing and understanding of basic tissue and viral culture.
-Media preparation: Assist in preparation of growth medium and cryoprotectant medium to be used during various vaccine production processes.
-Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) & CFR Title 9: Animals and Animal Products
Technical / Functional Competencies:
-Understanding of aseptic technique
-Understanding of clean room behavior
-Cell culture and viral culture knowledge
-Mathematical aptitude
-Coachability
-Thoroughness & attention to detail
-Flexibility
Qualifications:
-HS Diploma or equivalent required
-AS or BS degree preferred
-Experience in GMP environment preferred, but not required.
-Able to read, write legibly, and communicate in English.
-Squatting, bending, twisting, and fine motor skills all required.

-Job Type: direct-hire
-Location: Lenexa, KS
-Pay Rate: $19-20/hour
-$5,000 retention bonus
-Weekend Shift Differential: +$2/hour
There are 3 different schedule options for this position
Schedule Option: CEF(+$3 shift differential)
Mon-Fri 3:00AM-11:00AM
Schedule Option: Weekend Shift
Sat-Wed 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
Schedule Option: Rotating Shift
Weeks 1-3: Mon-Fri 5:30 AM - 2:00 PM (Sat OFF & Sun OFF)
Week 4: Sat-Wed 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM (Thurs OFF & Fri OFF)
