Thermo Fisher Scientific Lead MFG Equipment Maintenance Technician - Days in Lenexa, Kansas


Responsible for setting up, maintaining and upgrading production and facilities equipment and systems to prevent unscheduled down time along with daily communication with Production Management to accomplish proper maintenance priorities.


Lead will be responsible for daily routine communication with Production Management and Engineering to assure that maintenance staff are in aligned with daily priorities. Provide communication between shifts. Escalate emergencies to appropriate level as necessary.

Make repairs or adjustments as instructed by a work order or verbal request by management on all production process equipment and anything supporting production. Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems as required. Perform preventative maintenance on all production process equipment on a scheduled basis. Use equipment manual and documentation to troubleshoot, tune and to find part numbers to make repairs. Ability to install and calibrate temperature controllers/recorders. Walk and stand up to six (6) hours at a time, up to 12 hours a day, with frequent squatting, stooping, kneeling, bending, twisting at waist, and climbing ladders. Possess the abilities to perform the physical requirements of the assigned job as identified by the Job Safety Analysis (JSA) with or without reasonable accommodations. General physical requirements include lifting, standing, climbing and hand manipulations. Perform all duties in accordance to GMP/QSR guidelines and adhere to all relative Microbiology Division SOP's Perform all work activities in a safe manner. Arrive to work on time and work during scheduled work hours, working additional overtime as needed. Report any actual or potential safety hazards to management.

In addition, other duties may be assigned as needed.


  1. High School Diploma or GED required

  2. Possess vocational technical or at least three years related job experience.

  3. Possess previous process control and various piping system experience.

  4. Possess basic knowledge of electronics, strong troubleshooting abilities, and ability to read blueprints.
