Mechanical Assembler/Upfitter - Locomotive Parts

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Assembler to join our team. You will be responsible for the mechanical assembly and up-fitting of railroad track equipment. This position offers the opportunity to work in a small team of 3-4 people in a shop floor environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical assembly and up-fitting of railroad track equipment.

  • Use hand tools and power tools to complete assembly tasks.

  • Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams.

  • Ensure all assembled parts meet quality standards.

  • Collaborate with team members to achieve project goals.

  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.

Essential Skills

  • 3+ years of mechanical assembly or mechanic work experience.

  • Experience with heavy machinery.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

  • Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools.

  • Ability to lift up to 60 pounds.

  • Strong resume tenure and overall work history.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with electrical schematics and wiring is a plus.

Work Environment

The work is conducted in a shop floor environment with a small team size of 3-4 people. The shift is from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lenexa, Kansas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $32.00/hr.
