Maintenance Technician

Job Description

This position is responsible for maintaining all production equipment and plant facilities in proper working condition for maximum productivity.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical equipment on flexographic equipment.

  • Work with equipment vendors on the installation of new equipment and coordinate efforts of equipment vendors for repairs of production equipment and building components.

  • Conduct daily inspections of and perform maintenance as needed on incinerator equipment, air compressors, conveyors, and compactors.

  • Perform preventative maintenance on printing and converting equipment according to schedule and specifications.

  • Identify major components needed for inventory and order parts.

  • Maintain required maintenance records for equipment.

  • Assist and train other maintenance personnel as required.

Essential Skills

  • Maintenance experience in an industrial manufacturing setting (5+ years preferred).

  • Strong skills with pneumatics (3+ years).

  • Electrical troubleshooting experience with AC/DC and high voltage equipment up to 480V.

  • Basic welding experience.

  • PLC troubleshooting ability.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Maintenance experience on flexographic printing presses.

Work Environment

The facility is fairly large and not climate-controlled, with odors from inks and solvents present in certain areas. The job requires frequent standing, walking, sitting, bending, stooping, and twisting. You must be able to use hand tools, stand for the duration of the shift (8+ hours/day), and repeatedly lift up to 70 pounds. Overtime may be required. The team consists of 11 members (1 manager, 1 lead, 8 technicians, and 1 parts person). Shifts are 1st shift: 7am - 3:30pm M-F and C shift: 7pm - 7am rotating.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lenexa, Kansas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $32.00
