Actalent Mechanical Designer in Lenexa, Kansas
Job Title: Mechanical DesignerJob Description
We are seeking a skilled CAD Designer to join our engineering team. You will be responsible for supporting the engineering staff in the preparation and release of documentation for new products and changes to existing designs for manufacturing. This role requires adherence to ISO 9001 guidelines and the company's policies and procedures. You will work with engineering CAD software and the company's business system software to complete various job tasks, attend meetings, and work the necessary hours to meet project deadlines.
Responsibilities
Create preliminary and final production drawings of machined parts, castings, and assemblies with input from the engineering staff.
Prepare documentation of special products as required by the customer with data supplied by Sales/Marketing and input from engineering staff.
Collaborate with organizational functions to organize and set up product assembly and sub-assembly levels for BOM structure.
Create and maintain the product configurator, bills-of-material, and part master file records to ensure proper inventory allocation and accurate product costing.
Coordinate, organize, and prepare documentation of engineering orders for new product designs and changes to existing products.
Check and review final engineering orders for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with design input specifications.
Create drawings for product catalogs and technical data sheets.
Adhere to guidelines and procedures as prescribed by ISO 9001.
Follow safety measures and other personnel policies.
Perform additional related tasks as necessary to support company products.
Comply with all policies and standards.
Essential Skills
High school education plus additional training equivalent to two years of college specializing in industrial manufacturing design/drafting.
Minimum of three years' experience working with engineers in the development, documentation, and introduction of new products into the manufacturing environment.
Three years of CAD solids modeling experience, preferably with Pro/Engineer and PTC Windchill.

Work Environment
The majority of the time will be spent in an office environment with low noise, sufficient lighting, and controlled temperatures. The role involves mostly sitting at a computer terminal. Occasionally, you may be required to be in the manufacturing area where noise levels may be higher.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $65000.00 - $65000.00/yr.
