The Quality Compliance Engineer will provide oversight and support of FAA Part 21 production approval, FAA Part 145 repair station approval, and AS9100 requirements across multiple business units.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Interfacing with internal and external stakeholders to ensure quality system compliance to regulatory requirements and industry standards.

  • Coordinate with TC/STC holders and the FAA to obtain PMA production approval for articles.

  • Support internal audits of the Part 21 production facility, and Part 145 repair facility.

  • Coordinate and lead customer and regulatory audits for both Part 21 and 145.

  • Complete customer quality surveys for Part 21 and 145 business units.

  • Write and maintain quality system documents including quality manuals, procedures, and work instructions in accordance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.

  • Provide oversight and training to certifying staff issuing 8130-3 authorized release documents.

  • Provide oversight and training to certified repairmen issuing 8130-3 return to service documents.

  • Interface with FAA MIDO (Manufacturing Inspection District Office) for Part 21 related issues.

  • Interface with FAA FSDO (Flight Standards District Office) for Part 145 related issues.

  • Coordinate and support FAA and customer conformity projects in support of part qualification and certification projects.

  • Plan and implement continuous improvement projects to improve quality and customer satisfaction.

  • Work with stakeholders to initiate and complete corrective actions to determine root cause and implement effective long term solutions.

  • Field regulatory related questions from internal and external parties, and provide guidance to ensure compliance to quality system requirements.

  • Work with engineering to ensure production approval alignment with approved engineering data.

  • Work with cross functional teams on various projects in support of FAA production approval of parts.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of prior relevant experience OR

  • Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience OR

  • In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required.

  • Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Bachelor’s degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Quality compliance or engineering experience in an FAA Approved Production facility or FAA approved Repair Station.

  • Knowledge of Part 21 and Part 145 FAA regulations, as well as AS9100 quality management system requirements.

  • Familiar with available Quality Improvement tools and methods.
