Quality Control Technologist

Job Description

Review and maintain product compliance specifications and documentation control. Perform and interpret microbiology testing, including growth promotion and biochemical analysis. Ensure proficiency on all performance benches and document testing results to determine disposition.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain consistency in training in Master Control.

  • Establish and maintain SOP criteria for inspection/testing.

  • Maintain department equipment and request consumables as needed.

  • Exercise and monitor GMP compliance in the work environment.

  • Work closely with the Quality Assurance department as a quality team.

  • Execute Stability Study testing in accordance with QA requirements.

  • Work with Customer Service Representatives to achieve on-time product releases for standing orders and special products.

  • Participate in the continuous improvement program within the department.

  • Collaborate with a team in a fast-paced laboratory setting.

  • Assist in maintaining standards in accordance with GMP's/SOP's and ISO regulations.

  • Participate in achieving department goals and adhere to all company policies.

Essential Skills

  • At least a 4-year degree in biological sciences with coursework in microbiology and laboratory experience, or a 4-year degree with 5+ years of microbiology lab experience.

  • A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in related QC/QA, microbiology laboratory work, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Familiarity with FDA regulations for medical devices.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in an organized fashion.

  • Effective communication skills with various departments regarding quality testing parameters.

  • Intermediate computer skills, preferably with experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint programs.

  • Experience working in SAP is a plus.

  • Ability to listen to and follow written and verbal instructions.

  • Adaptability and willingness to learn new procedures while maintaining a scientific and objective approach.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Responsible for all quality control aspects of finished product testing.

  • Ensure performance of finished products is in compliance with testing standards per IFU and SOP's, as well as customer requirements and regulating agencies' guidelines.

  • Documentation control duties per Quality Assurance compliance requirements.

Work Environment

Lab environment. Monday to Thursday or Tuesday to Friday, 10-hour shifts from 7am to 5:30pm.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.50 - $25.00/hr.
