CommunityAmerica Credit Union Senior HR Business Partner in Lenexa, Kansas

The Sr. Human Resources Business Partner position is responsible for providing consultative guidance and coaching to managers and employees on HR related matters to enhance alignment of business objectives with employees and management in designated business units. The position requires strategic thinking abilities to align business, goals, challenges and needs in partnership with leadership. A successful Senior HRBP will proactively deliver value by identifying issues and providing practical solutions as well as effectively deploying key HR initiatives for the business units.

  • Acts as a first point of contact for all HR matters for each assigned business unit.

  • Serve as an internal consultant by proactively listening to business unit needs, evaluating alternatives and providing recommendations.

  • Strategically works with management teams to provide information and develop creative solutions to increase performance and effectiveness of the business unit.

  • Serves as a proactive business partner through assessment, coaching and development, rewards and recognition, performance management and succession planning activities with designated business units.

  • Advises on leaves (FMLA, ADA, STD, Parental leave, etc.) with employees and managers, ensuring application of internal policies, external requirements and proper salary and benefit applications.

  • Develop, prepare, generate, and analyze ongoing and ad-hoc special reports pertaining to employee information and data, including but not limited to issues such as benefits, staffing levels, turnover, absenteeism, recruitment, applicant tracking, promotions, compensation, etc. and utilize data to identify key trends and metrics for improvement.

  • Provide ongoing training and facilitate management foundational programs in areas of responsibility including: performance coaching, employee relations, compliance, employee handbook guidelines, and key policies regarding employment law including, but not limited to, ADA/EEO and respectful workplace.

  • Assess and support the business organizational structure, talent strategies, and attraction and retention strategies. Identify and deploy business driven initiatives to support talent retention and attraction.

  • Conduct comprehensive employee relations investigations and consult with HR, management and staff to resolve issues. Support and advise management when conducting and leading investigations.

  • Provide guidance and administrative support to management and employees with ADP Performance systems.

  • Monitor and manage the application of regulations and statutes to minimize legal risk.

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field is required.

  • 5 years of HR Business Partner experience required.

  • 2-5 years’ experience working with high level teams (Director and higher) within previous organizations required.

  • 10 years of HR Generalist experience required supporting multi-site teams preferred.

  • Professional certification in human resources (SHRM-SCP/SHRM-CP//HR/SPHR) or continuing education is required.

  • Demonstrated self-starter with high degree of critical thinking skills

  • Strong consulting skills with the ability to build relationships with all levels of the organization.

  • Demonstrated ability to pay attention to details and accuracy

  • Strong working knowledge of state and federal employment laws and regulations.

  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Must be able to communicate directly and diplomatically in oral and written forms.

  • Ability to effectively manage multiple competing priorities through efficient time management and organizational skills

  • Ability to project a high degree of professionalism and present a positive image of the credit union

  • Must be able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality

  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).

  • Strong customer focus with a drive to provide solutions and continuous improvement.

  • Ability to work independently, and as a team member, while using discretion in decision making and sound judgment in problem solving

  • Effective verbal, written and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products.
