Job Description

Hybrid Role - Local Remote. Candidates living within a commutable distance of theKansas City Metro Area are encouraged to apply.

Candidate must be authorized to work in U.S. without sponsorship.

Schedule:

• Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm

Basic Function and Scope of Responsibility:

The Software Engineer is primarily responsible for designing, developing, configuring and supporting computer software applications.

Essential Job Duties:

Level I - Minimum

• Manage designated technology application portfolio from configuration, maintenance and monitoring
• Provide analysis, architectural design and leadership on small size projects
• Work within defined IT processes and procedures including the company\'s internal software development life cycle methodology (SDLC)
• Serve as liaisons between technical and business departments to ensure that all requirements and targets are met
• Work under close to moderate supervision with limited latitude for independent judgment
• Consult with senior peers on non-complex projects to learn through experience
• Apply basic application management and administration skills with moderate level of proficiency
• Represent department and the organization favorably and in accordance with established Company standards and associate attributes at all times
• Participate in 24x7 On Call rotation supporting break/fix ticket resolution.
• Other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Level I - Minimum

• Bachelor\'s degree in computer science, business or equivalent experience and training
• Up to 3 years of successful application & system development and management; database experience utilizing the .NET Framework
• Analytical, motivated and ability to learn new technologies and applications
• Ability to multi-task
• Knowledge and management of System Development Lifecycle Methodologies a plus
• Goal oriented, with excellent time management and organizational skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with ability to interact effectively and work efficiently with people at all levels in an organization
• Excellent v rbal & written communication skills
• Keenly attentive to detail
• Ability to keep sensitive information confidential

Preferred Experience:

• SQL Server or Oracle. SQL Server Integration Tools.
• Leading projects, developing and administrating Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS): STARLiMS, Outreach
• Leading projects, developing and administrating Specimen Management Systems
• Leading projects, developing and administrating Lab Instrument Interfaces connecting instruments to LIMS
• Working knowledge of HL7 standard and coding; Corepoint HL7 application
• Knowledge of testing laboratory operations and processes a plus
• High level of proficiency with PC based software programs; including project management tools, MS Project
