Aston Carter Staff Accountant in Lenexa, Kansas

Aston Carter is working with a great company in the Johnson County area seeking to hire a Staff Accountant II! Our client offers competitive pay, annual bonus opportunities, employee stock plan, and a great culture!

Job Duties:

  • Reconcile sub-ledger accounts to general ledger for all companies.

  • Participate in month-end close process.

  • Journal entries and other general accounting.

  • Research and analytical problem solving.

  • Be detail oriented, reliable, and well organized.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment with an emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.

  • Respond to Branch inquiries in a timely and professional manner.

  • Prepare summary financial information and ad hoc reporting to management as needed.

  • Possess good computer skills and demonstrate the ability to learn new computer functionality.

  • Work well with others through all methods of communication.

  • External audit assistance and preparation of schedules.

  • Special projects as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting required

  • 3+ years experience in accounting

  • CPA highly preferred

  • Public accounting experience OR experience working for a large company
