Position Overview
The SQS Estimator is responsible for estimating Project Supplier Quality services & associated costs for the Project per internal and client requirements. This position will liaise with suppliers, project management, engineering, and the construction team. This is an office-based position, but there will be a requirement for the individual to travel up to 15% of this time both domestic and international as needed. #LI-WJ1

Location
Lenexa, KS (preferred). Willing to consider qualified candidates located in Houston, TX.
Responsibilities
• Create cost estimates for SQS department services
• Review and incorporate specification requirements into the project estimates as set forth in Kiewit, engineering partner, and/or Client Specifications
• Review historical estimates to guide cost estimates
• Undertake training as required
• Support completion of purchased equipment risk levels and come up with amount of SQS effort required on projects.
Other Responsibilities may include:
• Coordination of inspections: Communication with suppliers and the project team, preparing inspectors for assignments. Preparation of Project Specific Quality Documents such as instructions, checklists etc.
• Participation in continuous improvement initiatives
• Support completion of internal procedures to determine purchased equipment risk levels
Qualifications
Industry knowledge of the design, fabrication, and testing requirements of engineered equipment and permanent materials used in power, oil & gas, water industries
Must be able to communicate in a professional manner
Ability to review project and customer technical specifications and incorporate the requirements into Project Estimates to provide SQS’s services
Required to be fully numerate and computer literate (MS Office including Excel)
Good communication skills at all levels of the business
Must be able to work independently with minimum supervision
Be able to read fabrication drawings for mechanical equipment, pressure vessels, piping, and structural fabrications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or similar technical discipline with 5+ years of work experience. In lieu of degree, 10+ years’ experience with quality management systems may be considered.
