Job Summary
Develops detailed coordination and fabrication drawings for underground, above ground, overhead interstitial space, electrical/equipment room, and systems drawings. Manage department SOP and setup projects. Total station and laser scanning (office and field aspects). Communication with VDC Electrical Manager and support electrical staff in software/hardware needs. Manages all VDC aspects of large scale electrical projects including in-house detailers and sub-contractors.
Responsibilities and Duties
Produces all VDC electrical deliverables drawings consistent with specifications, prefabrication guidelines and department standards.
Performs verification and preparation of submittal drawings to meet department and customer requirements.
Prepares RFI documentation requesting clarification of original architectural design and the organization and follow-up responses.
Labels and dimensions drawings prepared by department staff.
Completes all project as built drawings per field comments.
Plots all department drawings.
Reads architectural and structural floor plans, sections and elevations.
Confers with VDC Manager and project manager staff to resolve problems and explaining drawings to production or construction teams and providing adjustments as necessary.
Organize and lead coordination meetings with sub-contractors
Manage incoming and outgoing 3D coordination and submittal content both in-house and from sub-contractors
Assist PMs at high level with material procurement with reports and BOMs
Coordinate with in-house off site construction facility for material, manpower, and schedule
Qualifications and Skills
Education Experience:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
Bachelor’s Degree/Associates related to Construction or Technology Studies preferred but not required.
Direct Experience and Electrical Trade Knowledge:
Competent in the electrical trade with at least 5 years of electrical field experience
General:
General understanding of all facets of construction blueprints (architectural, structural, civil, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and special systems).
Must be able to satisfactorily pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
Skills
- Computer Skills: Must be proficient in using email, internet, spreadsheet, and word processing applications: specifically Microsoft Office products. Preferred but not required: Adobe Acrobat or Bluebeam Revu experience, Autodesk Revit, Autodesk Navisworks Manage and it’s total functionality, Evolve Electrical Revit add-on, AutoCAD MEP, Trimble Field Points, and Autodesk Recap Pro.
