PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Plans and executes a broad range of programs for middle and high school members with the primary concern of achieving outcome driven results. Support the Clubs priority outcome areas of Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, Good Character and Leadership, and Career and Workforce Development of our members.

KEY ROLES:

  • Plan and oversee programs in 4 focus areas: Academic Success, Health Lifestyles, Good Character & Leadership, and Career and Workforce Development for middle and high school students.
  • Understand and stay up to date on current trends; topics that occur in the world and throughout school; and issues within our community that effect pre-adolescents/ adolescents.
  • Ensure that topics taught in the Clubs programs are developmentally appropriate and align with current middle and high school social and educational trends.
  • Implement program activities in accordance with established standards and goals.
  • Implement teen focused initiatives such as Keystone, Youth of the Year (YOY) and Club2Career.
  • Demonstrate leadership to assure conduct, safety, and development of members and staff.
  • Evaluate programs on a continual basis and ensure activities align with the Clubs values.
  • Submit monthly reports that reflect compliance with grant goals and deliverables.
  • Ensure proper recordkeeping and reporting, including activities and events, attendance, incident reports, or documentation of other issues.
  • Develop a teen growth & impact plan leveraging resources provided by BGCA.
  • Responsible for teen member recruitment and retention of members.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • May manage special programs and/or events and/or participate in the implementation of other Club activities, as requested.
  • May be required periodically to drive Club van.
  • May be required to answer phones and perform other light administrative duties.
  • Exercise authority in problems relating to members and staff; utilize guidance and discipline plan.
  • Supports supervisor with keeping the facility clean and tidy.
  • Maintain accurate attendance in member tracking system.
  • Assumes other duties as assigned.

RELATIONSHIPS:

Internal: Maintain close contact with Club staff and supervisor to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain or interpret guidelines, instruct and advise/counsel.

External: Maintain contact with parents or guardians to communicate about Club activities, explain or interpret Club guidelines, and address any conduct issues relative to members. May be required to communicate with or work closely with school principals and classroom instructors.
