Koniag Data Solutions, a Koniag Government Services company, is currently looking for a Cyber Security Engineer to support KDS and our government customer. This position requires the candidate to be able to obtain a Public Trust. This opportunity is onsite in Manhattan, Kansas.

Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:

The Cybersecurity Engineer shall be intermediate or above skill and experience level (level II) with an understanding of the lifecycle of network/application/database threats, be proficient in DevSecOps, Secure SDLC and have strong expertise in operating in the below disciplines and tools:

  • Web Application Vulnerability Scanning (Manual and automated)

  • Database Scanning

  • Network Vulnerability Scanning is a plus

  • Micro Focus Web Inspect

  • Micro Focus Fortify

  • Burp Suite Proxy Servers

  • Qualys Vulnerability Management Detection Response

  • Netsparker

  • Sonarlint/SonarQube

  • Security Onion

  • Red Team Network and Systems Assessments

  • Blue Team Network and Systems Assessments

  • False Positive Analysis & Risk categorizations based on industry standards

  • Knowledge of development platforms (.NET/JAVA) and COTS

  • Ability to work with development teams to provide recommendations and remediate vulnerabilities

  • Proficient in integrating security tools into the DevSecOps toolchain

  • Develop and collaborate on innovative and creative solutions to complex technical/business problems within a logical, rigorous, and analytical framework

  • Be a true thought leader willing to both learn, implement, and educate clients on vulnerability and risk management.

Work Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Technical Literacy in networking, applications, databases security, infrastructure, cloud and DevSecOps.

  • 5+ years of experience defining and implementing enterprise-wide vulnerability management solutions with a minimum of at least 3 years hands-on experience leading and or supporting Infrastructure, Network and Application Security scanning.

  • CEH or Security + Certification

  • Experience in configurating, setting up and executing credentialed system and web application vulnerability scans

  • Able to comprehend new concepts, ask pertinent questions, and execute and document ideas and concepts with minimal day-to-day direction

  • Excellent time management skills, ensuring that schedules, milestones and appropriate deliverables are set and completed on time

  • Problem Solving

  • Able to mitigate and mediate complex business requirements and/or politically charged issues and able to quickly change direction based on updated client specifications or system limitations

  • Leadership

  • Be a self-starter & thought leader and able to drive personal and team accountability

  • Experience managing and motivating technical or operational teams

Education and Experience Required:

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience; Minimum 8 years of experience

Working Environment & Conditions

This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand, walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The workload may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress.

The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
