About This Role:

The Agronomy Department at Kansas State University is looking for a Fellow (Post Doc) in Agronomy/Soil Science. The successful candidate will analyze a 10-year data set on regenerative crop and livestock farm in Mato Grosso, Brazil. They will coordinate additional measurements to determine water, nutrient, and energy efficiencies and soil health. The candidate will design and implement additional on-farm research to improve efficiency and reduce the environmental footprint. The selected candidate will be responsible for conducting research and drafting publications for technical reports, and scientific journals. The successful applicant will work in an interdisciplinary team involving crop scientists, soil scientists, and modelers working together to improve water use and nutrient use efficiency in rainfed agricultural systems.

Worksite Options:

This position is eligible for hybrid worksite. Work is performed partially remote and partially on employer premises or designated assignment location. Employee must have availability to be on campus frequently during the work week. The employee may be expected to travel to Brazil to conduct on-farm research and can work remotely during time away from campus.

What You\'ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Agronomy, Soil Science, Ecology, or closely related discipline.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with agricultural farming techniques, soil health measurements, nutrient cycling, and statistical analyses.
  • Demonstrated excellence in coursework, good written and oral communication skills, and the ability to work as a team member.
  • Proficiency in both written and spoken Portuguese is highly desirable.

Anticipated Hiring Pay Range:

Salary offers are typically made between the minimum and midpoint of the salary range. The range indicated includes both the typical hiring range and potential future progression.)
