\ \ Research Compliance Manager\ \ Department: 3670050050 University Research Compliance\ Job no: 516893\ Employment type: Staff Full Time (Unclassified - Regular)\ Location: Manhattan, Kansas\ Worksite: Remote eligible (must reside in US)\ Categories: Executive / Director / Management, Research / Scientific / Grants\ Pay Grade: 09B\ \ \ About This Role:\ The quantity and quality of research projects at K-State has steadily increased, and with projections of increased research capacity, expansion of compliance personnel is necessary to facilitate this growth. University researchers must be in compliance with federal and state laws and university policy to comply with the Federalwide Assurance (license) granted by the U.S. Office for Human Research Protections. This position exists to enable compliance with human subjects research ethics requirements for the K-State research community.\ \ The IRB Administrator is responsible for K-State\'s IRB Program, and pre-review processing, designated review of a subset of research eligible for non-committee review, and post-review administrative processes. This person will also coordinate, convene, and manage all aspects and functions related to regular meetings of the K-State IRB, including meeting minutes. The IRB Administrator will also be the point-of-contact for all K-State researchers conducting research with human subjects and will be the liaison who coordinates and communicates revision requests from IRB members/committee to the PI.\ \ To be successful in this role, candidates should have demonstrated knowledge of Federal guidelines, policies, and procedures applicable to IRB review and review and revisions to include Federal Policy 45 CFR 46, 21 CFR 50, 21 CFR 56, and the Belmont Report. The ideal candidate will have experience with communicating, interpreting, and explaining human research compliance laws and university policy to faculty, staff, and student researchers.   • Bachelor\'s Degree
  • Three years of relevant experience

\ Preferred Qualifications:

Ma ter\'s Degree or higher

Effectively advise faculty and student researchers on the compilation of research protocol and informed consent documentation.

Knowledgeable of policies and procedures applicable to IRB review and revisions, to include: Federal Policy 45 CFR 46, 21 CFR 50, 21 CFR 56, Belmont Report.

Ability to communicate, interpret and explain human research compliance laws and university policy to faculty, staff, and student researchers.

Ability to perform a preliminary administrative review of complex research protocols and identify problems and issues.

Ability to coordinate and organize complex technical meetings.

Ability to maintain the confidentiality of information and records with tact and discretion.

Ability to develop training and education components for the research community.

Excellent oral and written communication and organization skills.

Ability to prioritize tasks and work under pressure with multiple deadlines.

CIP certification or ability to attain.

Exceptional computer skills to maintain intricate protocol databases as well as database manipulatio
