JOB GOAL:Facilitate bilingual communication between families and staff.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide verbal interpretation of specified native language/English for families and staff with an approach that is empathetic, non-judgmental, respectful, and professional during events such as but not limited to: parent teacher conferences, enrollment, school functions and family engagement events.
- At times, provide sight-translation of documents and communicate information to families and staff
- Maintain confidentiality of family records and information and boundaries between personal and professional relationships according to USD383 Code of Ethics and Confidentiality forms
- Comply with relevant state and federal regulations and guidance
- Attend annual interpreter orientation and training provided by USD383
