rAbout This Role:

The Department of Entomology at Kansas State University, Manhattan, KS, is looking to hire a full-time Program/Project Coordinator with extensive beekeeping experience and knowledge to support the implementation of daily operations associated with our American Honey Institute (http://www.entomology.ksu.edu/honey). This position is also responsible for coordinating and maintaining the necessary training assets for our multi-level beekeeping courses and honey production efforts.

What You\'ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor\'s Degree
  • This position may use an educational equivalency as determined relevant by a hiring manager

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master Beekeeper Certificate.
  • Experience working with a commercial beekeeper and completion of an approved apprenticeship training program and/or a minimum of 5 years of beekeeping experience.
  • Energetic with endurance.
  • Team Player with ability to fit in with disparate personalities and groups.

Other Requirements:

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment.
  • Possession of, or the ability to obtain, a valid Kansas Class C Driver\'s License within 90 days of employment.
  • Basic familiarity with Microsoft Business Tools and ability to learn supporting programs such as Quick books and WIX.
  • Ability to conduct field work in remote locations.
  • Ability to work under adverse conditions for long and irregular hours,
  • Must be capable of wearing a bee suit in high/extreme temperatures (excess of 105 degrees).
  • Ability to cope with stress.
  • Highly organized and able to perform in a professional manner
  • Ability to stay oriented on task.
  • Ability to provide clear two-way communications.
  • Ability to deal with emergencies in a timely manner.
  • Portray a positive attitude.

\$53,000-\$58,000/gross/year (plus benefits)
