\ \ Recruitment Coordinator\ \ Department: 3670010080 Grain Science & Industry\ Job no: 516969\ Employment type: Staff Full Time (Unclassified - Term)\ Location: Manhattan, Kansas\ Worksite: Hybrid eligible (partially remote, must reside in US)\ Categories: Academic Advising / Support\ Pay Grade: 09A\ \ \ About This Role:\ The Recruitment Coordinator will execute the Department\'s marketing and recruitment plan. This position will be dedicated to the department\'s mission and goal, providing leadership and managing activities related to marketing and new student recruitment. This position reports to the Department Head of Grain Science and Industry.\ \ Essential Job Functions:

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive, data-driven strategic recruitment plan to recruit, admit and enroll an increasing number of students locally, regionally, nationally and internationally.
  • Lead the department recruitment efforts by creating and implementing an integrated recruitment and yield strategy for undergraduate students, including market assessment and segmentation, brand marketing and promotional strategies.
  • Develop operating goals and objectives for the department to increase enrollment and retention of undergraduate students.
  • Help the department to recruit diverse and under-represented student populations, by investigating appropriate forums for engaging communities that represent those populations.
  • Develop print and electronic recruiting/marketing materials. Take the lead role of developing and maintaining literature, websites, social media, mailings, and other marketing materials for the department. Monitor and provide materials to update departmental web pages.
  • Have a working knowledge of academic policies and procedures, and deadlines. Apply knowledge of university such as admissions standards, scholarship and financial aid opportunities in order to guide prospective students.
  • Maintain communication with alumni/industry stakeholders. Cultivate strong partnerships with professional organizations (IAOM, NAMA, ABS, BNEF, AFIA) and GSI alumni to enhance current pipelines and develop new pipelines.
  • Promote the department by making presentations and speeches at alumni meetings, high school conferences, and counselor events.
  • Maintain records of recruitment activities according to established protocol.
  • Travel with some evenings and weekends required. Develop travel schedule, use data and tools to determine priorities for event attendance, and fiscally responsible for travel and event-related expense.
  • Lead the department in developing programs and initiatives that are related to recruitment, such as summer camps, conferences for educators, and strengthening partnerships with high school and community college student organizations.
  • Adopt technology and database systems to effectively support recruiting efforts. Create reports, conduct data analytics for various processes and analyze strategy to help make data-driven decisions.
  • Initiate and maintain a personal relationship with prospective students and family members throughout the recruitment process.
