Work is performed on employer premises or designated assignment location.\ \ What You\'ll Need to Succeed:\ Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires a master\'s degree and two years of relevant experience.

\ Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. or M.S. in microbiology, biology, animal science, entomology, or other related science.
  • Two years working in research, diagnostic or similar laboratory and 1 year teaching experience at any level.
  • Must obtain and maintain Select Agent and other clearances.
  • Ability to pass annual physical associated with work in high containment. This job has potential for safety hazard exposures and infectious disease exposure. Protective vaccines will be offered as needed.
  • Ability to lift/maneuver large animals in a high containment environment.
  • Teaching experience with diverse ages, groups, skill levels, ability to use Canvas to post learning materials.
  • Basic virology skills: cell culture, PCR, RNA extractions, PRNT, etc.
  • Basic animal skills: animal handling, necropsy, etc.
  • Basic entomology skills: rearing, feeding, analysis - preferably with mosquitoes.
