Job Title: Substitute School Nurse
Job Brief:
- Promotes the fullest possible educational opportunity for each student in the district by minimizing absence due to illness and creating a climate of health and well-being in the district schools. This is an ideal opportunity for retirees, veterans, students, and people needing a flexible schedule. Full-time and part-time job opportunities are available.
Location: Various school locations throughout Manhattan and Ogden.
Salary:
- \$18.00/hour.
- This position is not eligible for benefits.
Hours Per Day:
- Early Learning: 8:30 - 3:50.
- Elementary hours: 8:30 - 3:50.
- Secondary hours: 7:40 - 3:00.
- Times may vary depending on the building assignment.
- Flexible hours depending on availability.
- Average workday = 7.5 hours.
FLSA Status:
- Non-Exempt.
Reports To:
- Executive Director of Special Services/Building Principal
- Performance will be evaluated in accordance with the Board of Educations policy on the evaluation of personnel.
Job Duties:
- Reports to parents, school personnel, physicians, clinics, and other agencies on school medical matters.
- Assumes responsibility for the first aid care of a student or staff member who has suffered injury or illness
- Provides health education on an individual basis.
- Visits home of students when necessary or when referred by principals.
- Advises on modification of the educational program to meet health needs of individual students.
- Advises teachers on health matters, particularly regarding screening for student health problems.
- Interprets laws relating to school health.
- Assists school personnel in establishing healthy conditions in schools.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
