This position is responsible for providing occasional clinical assistance and appropriate service for the calls coming into the VHC for patient appointments and consultations. The hospital mission includes providing quality medical services to clients and training for professional veterinary students. - Requires a high school diploma and one year of relevant experience.
\ Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum of two years fulltime clinical veterinary experience either in general &/or specialty practice.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, diseases, and symptoms.
- Ability to multitask in a high stress environment.
- Ability to make sound decisions in a stressful situation.
- Ability to prioritize and recognize the most effective & efficient process to accomplish the daily workflow.
- Strong multi-tasking skills.
- Excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills.
- Adaptable to different computer systems/advanced computer skills.
- Flexibility and willingness to help other teammates.
- A self-starter who is constantly looking for productive ways to fill downtime.
- Ability to answer multiple phone lines.
- Ability to perform word processing and data entry procedures on a personal computer.
- Willing and able to master new techniques.
- Veterinary Assistant Certification
