Pfizer Inventory Specialist in McPherson, Kansas


Perform inventory control activities to maintain inventory accuracy and to meet financial control commitments. Identifies production material requirements from production schedules, and plans material transfers for adequate warehouse inventory accordingly.


  • Performs daily inventory records maintenance to resolve errors

  • Initiate and reconcile cycle counts

  • Maintain accurate documentation and filing systems

  • Coordinate daily issues and communicate with Logistics, Production, Supply Chain, Quality, and other plant personnel.

  • Processes incoming and outgoing shipments; prepares merchandise for shipping; maintains records; checks invoices and bills of lading.

  • Coordinate and plan shipments to and from off-site warehouses based on production schedule requirements.


  • Requires ability to understand and carry out assigned duties effectively. Knowledge needed of specialized business processes such as elementary accounting procedures, basic computer operations and normal office procedures.

  • High school plus additional specialized courses or experience


  • Some college and/or APICS certification

  • Previous experience with JD Edwards and SAP


  • Decisions require complex analytical judgment. Plan and perform a wide variety of duties requiring general knowledge of company policies and procedures applicable within area of responsibilities.

  • Requires considerable judgment to work independently toward general results, devise methods, modify or adapt standard procedures to meet different conditions, make decisions based on precedent and company policies


Regular inside and outside: Requires contacts to carry out company policy and programs. Must often deal with persons of substantially higher rank on matters requiring explanation, persuasion and obtaining approvals.
