ManpowerGroup Machinist 2nd & 3rd Shifts in McPherson, Kansas
Work You'll Do: MUST TRAIN IN THE MORNING 8AM-4PM
Verify correct product using job traveler.
Set-up and operate a variety of machinery (CNC, Grinder, Lathe, Mill and Saw) to blueprint specifications.
Monitor machine performance and perform preventative maintenance to assure continuity of production.
Monitor and ensure all fluid levels are maintained on all equipment.
Monitor inventory levels and report low levels and discrepancies to supervisor.
Must use precision measuring tools specific to job.
Must use job specific hand tools.
Read part drawing with sectional views.
Lift, position, and transport work piece with a hoist.
Must accurately record labor hours into ERP system.
Work independently; assist and train less experienced machinists.
Maintain plant standards in areas of safety, quality, delivery, cost, 5S, housekeeping, teamwork, and attendance.
Recommend improvements for area product and processes.
Interact professionally when interacting with customers and employees.
Other duties may be assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED along with Technical School Certificate is preferred.
1+ years of related experience or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Math Skills - basic math skills required, advanced preferred; general computer skills; knowledge and understanding of various measuring devices.
Problem Solving - identify and resolve problems in a timely manner; gathers and analyzes information skillfully; develops alternative solutions; works well in group problem solving situations.
Written communication - must be able to complete required paperwork and provide information needed by subsequent shift workers, coworkers, and supervisors.
Reading - read and understand written instructions, blueprints, job travelers, etc.
Listening - understand and retain oral job-related information and instructions received from coworkers and supervisors. Listen for alarms and monitor equipment to ensure proper functioning.
Seeing - visually monitor machine to ensure proper mechanics are maintained and identify problems; specifically paying attention to detail.
Equipment - load, unload, move, stack and stage product and materials using forklift; use of overhead crane; maintain the facility's equipment and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion. Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods.
