Our client has an exciting opportunity in our Information Technology group. We are looking for a Systems Engineer to assist in the oversight of existing server and network infrastructure at our McPherson, KS facility. You must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, be detail oriented and have strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work in a team environment and independently.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
· Perform routine and complex engineering, support, and administration of client services and infrastructure.
· Monitor, log, track and resolve hardware, software and infrastructure deficiencies and note weaknesses or tendencies toward failure within the full range of system lifecycle -- build, service provisioning, operations and decommissioning.
· Analyze and consult with the business, recommended solutions and effort/cost estimate guidance for the purchase, installation and support of infrastructure components.
· Prepare detailed specifications and end to end Visio designs for implementation and support solutions.
· Aid in network planning, engineering, architecture and the development of technical standards and technical strategy.
· Develop and implement project plans for network technologies and systems.
· Establish repeatable processes/ templates to drive operational efficiency with continuous feedback/improvement of network, operational support, and IT services for site customers.
· Follow established client policies for vulnerability and patch management to ensure a reliable and secure infrastructure platform
· Support and optimize local site SAN storage and virtualization environments.
· Create and implement roadmaps for the refresh of the Windows Server environment.
· Conduct root cause analysis of server and network device service-related incidents.
· Train and provide technical support to new and existing customers of systems/services and peer support teams/resources.
· Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
· Work non-traditional work hours and occasional off hours to control interruptions to production processing and business impact.
Minimum Qualifications (required)
· Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science or related field (or equivalent years of training, work experience and education)
· 2+ years of experience as a network engineer to include:
o Managing and supporting LAN architecture
o Designing and implementing LAN solutions
o Knowledge of industry protocols (i.e. TCP/IP, MPLS, VLANs)
o Knowledge of storage array administration
o Windows Server administration (build, maintain, troubleshoot, optimize)
o VMWare system management (build, maintain, troubleshoot, optimize)
Additional Qualifications
· ITIL Certification
· Cisco certification: CCNA, CCNP
· BGP, SNMP, Sys logging, SSH
· Firewalls (Palo Alto)
· Understanding of monitoring, packet capture, analysis and ISP provisioning
· Understanding of Cisco wireless implementation and configuration
· Understanding of ISCSI
Physical Requirements
· Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
· Work in manufacturing environment wearing appropriate PPE

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $58.00/hr.
