CHS has an exciting opportunity in our Pipelines and Terminals group at our McPherson, KS refinery. We are looking for a Pipeline Scheduler to be responsible for the coordination of all oil movements through the Jayhawk Pipeline and Kaw Pipeline systems to destination location. You must be a self-motivated, detail-oriented, results-driven individual with a commitment to quality, accuracy, and the ability to organize and prioritize workloads to meet deadlines. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a strong commitment to customer service are necessary.
Solicit, compile, and analyze monthly crude oil nominations from shippers, refiners, and connecting pipeline companies.
Balance receipts, inventories, and deliveries to maintain stable operating schedules.
Develop a monthly plan of deliveries which optimizes power costs and other operating expenses while maintaining receipt and delivery obligations.
Maintain oil balances comparing receipts versus nominations and make adjustments on deliveries to preserve required inventories.
Promote good working relationships with shippers, crude oil purchasers, other pipeline companies and refinery contacts.
Be responsible for end of month close out activities.
Monitor over and (shorts) and help find and resolve issues.
Work closely with Control Room Supervisor to ensure scheduled deliveries are met.
Evaluate and recommend projects to reduce operating costs and increase revenues generated by operations.
Understand, evaluate, and implement Jayhawk’s proration policy, should it be necessary, based on nominated deliveries, communicating this to the shippers affected.
Performs other duties as needed.
Note that due to 24-hour operation of pipelines, this position may be required to address abnormal or emergency scenarios after-hours.
Basic Qualifications (required)
Associates degree from an accredited two-year college or technical school or equivalent experience
Up to 5 years related experience and/or training
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word or the ability to learn to use these products
Strong working knowledge of Waterfield crude oil accounting system or the ability to learn to use this system
Preferred Qualifications (desired)
Bachelor's degree in business or related field
Knowledge of Jayhawk Pipeline and/or McPherson Refinery operations
