Job Title: Warehouse Worker
Job Description
As a Warehouse Worker, you will be proficient in receiving, sorting, staging, replenishment, putaway, picking, packing, cycle counting, and shipping. You will manage the integrity of freight shipping to customers, ensuring all orders are completed in the system and communicated with carriers. You will perform functions in both SAP and Warehouse Management System (WMS) with a high level of productivity and quality. You will assist other team members with process questions, remain flexible, and quickly learn new tasks.
Responsibilities
Determine daily work schedule via work board instructions and supervisor's direction.
Perform equipment inspection and complete proper documentation before operating any equipment.
Unload shipments from trucks using forklift or pallet jack; read labels to determine designated storage or staging location.
Perform a 3-way match to validate product part numbers and quantities received.
Input information into SAP and WMS accurately and completely.
Utilize a forklift or reach truck to transport pallets to designated storage and staging locations.
Identify, research, and resolve discrepancies using paperwork, WMS, Traffic, Inside Sales, and Customer Service.
Identify products and containers for replenishment; scan containers and transport pallets to designated storage locations.
Pick inventory using RF gun, place in containers, transport to packing lanes, and verify quantities.
Consolidate pallets for multiple orders on a single outbound trailer to reduce shipping costs and improve quality.
Ensure all shipments and orders are properly and safely packed onto trucks according to bills of lading.
Participate in daily cycle counting with high attention to detail.
Maintain individual process performance and strive to reduce order throughput time.
Ensure facility and equipment checklists are maintained and perform cleanliness and 5S functions.
Proactively recognize problems before they happen and communicate with the supervisor to eliminate future issues.
Maintain accurate inventory levels and resolve discrepancies as they occur.
Work with leadership team to create personal improvement plans for process or quality issues.
Contribute to process changes in response to customer errors and correct technical errors from manufacturing and vendors.
Maintain a clean work environment and perform 5S activities to organize and manage the distribution center.
Assist DC Team Member I, II, and III as needed and perform other duties as required or assigned.
Comply with safety rules, including slips, trips, falls, good housekeeping, safe lifting, and proper use of equipment.
Essential Skills
Accurate counting and math skills.
Proficiency in computer programs including Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook, SAP.
Knowledge of proper lifting techniques.
Experience with warehouse management systems.
Ability to adhere to quality standards and procedures.
Ability to read and understand information presented.
Ability to operate material handling equipment, including forklift and pallet jack.
Ability to lift and move heavy or bulky items weighing 50 pounds or more.
Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
Attention to detail.
Superior service skills reflecting a positive company image.
High standards of quality performance.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent.
3+ years of warehouse experience.
Experience with Warehouse Management Systems and SAP Receiving.
Cycle counting experience.
Certification in material handling equipment.
5S and Lean experience preferred.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.

The Distribution Center is an extension of the plastics production plant, and it is not climate-controlled. You will work with advanced technologies and machinery, and be part of a team committed to maintaining high standards of productivity and quality.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mcpherson, Kansas.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $18.00
