Role Summary/Purpose:

The VP, Oracle Directory Services & Linux Authentication Leader will lead the engineering and operations of Synchrony’s Oracle Unified Directory (OUD) environment and systems. This role will work across organizational boundaries to understand the technology ecosystem and engineer solutions to drive critical governance & oversight of Oracle Directory Services and Linux authentication. Additionally, this role will lead the strategy, roadmap, and implementation of Linux authentication and authorization initiatives.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of Directory Services engineers as the Oracle Directory Services & Linux Authentication agile product owner. Additionally, you will be responsible for setting team goals, assigning tasks, and providing ongoing support and feedback to members of the team.

  • As an Oracle Directory Services product owner, you will be responsible for creating the product’s vision, roadmap and requirements. Additionally, you should be able to establish requirements’ priority in terms of business / technical value

  • Day-to-day management of the Oracle Directory Services & Linux Authentication platform configuration required to support business requirements, application integrations, workloads, regulatory compliance, and all other platform efforts or deliverables

  • Drive the operational, risk management, & technical excellence of Oracle Directory Services & Linux Authentication operational processes and platform configuration leveraging performance and availability metrics

  • Oversight over the development of automation necessary to build, test, deploy, and maintain OUD environment

  • Collaborate across a wide audience of stakeholders regarding business objectives, priorities, and impact of proposed solutions

  • Collaborate with various groups and individuals to troubleshoot and resolve escalated production issues

  • Ensure Oracle Directory Services & Linux authentication systems and supporting processes are well governed and adhere to Synchrony policies, standards, and regulatory requirements

  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • BS/BA in Computer Science / other technical degree or Business Management and 10 years of IT experience or in lieu of degree High School Diploma/GED and 15 years of IT experience.

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience leading a team(s) of engineers; setting team goals, assigning tasks, and providing ongoing support and feedback to members of the team.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience leading the engineering, delivery, and support of technology solutions for medium to large enterprises

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the development & operational support of OUD technologies including platform upgrades, patching, maintenance, configuration & administration.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the development & operational support of OUD processes including application integrations, vulnerability management, workload support, regulatory compliance, and service delivery/management.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working with agile methodologies as a Product Owner of a product team

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in automating deployments using DevOps & CI/CD best practices

  • Proven analytical mindset; Ability to identify patterns or correlation within data sets

  • Critical attention to detail; Ability to coordinate multiple deliverables across multiple teams

  • Strong, hands-on, development experience building OUD workflows/processes for application integrations, vulnerability management, workload support, regulatory compliance, and service delivery/management

  • Hands-on experience working across various identity functions including Identity Governance & Administration, Authentication / Authorization, Directory Services, Privilege Management, and Secrets Management

  • Strong executive presence, communication, presentation skills

  • Knowledge of the organization’s enterprise technology goals and objectives

  • Knowledge of the organization's core business/mission processes

  • Knowledge of Personally Identifiable Information (PII) data security standards

  • Knowledge of Payment Card Industry (PCI) data security standards

  • Knowledge of laws, policies, procedures, or governance relevant to cybersecurity for critical infrastructures

  • Knowledge of cyber defense and information security policies, procedures, and regulations

  • Knowledge of information technology (IT) risk management policies, requirements, and procedures

  • Skill in creating policies that reflect system security objectives

Grade/Level: 13

The salary range for this position is 150,000.00 - 250,000.00 USD Annual

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA and Metro NY and some positions are bonus eligible.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be 18 years or older

  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process

  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 24 months’ time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).
