Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accountant to support our construction and service management teams. This role involves coordinating construction billing, ensuring accurate allocation of costs, and managing work in process. Additionally, you will provide service support by entering invoices, assisting with lease renewals, and creating financial reports.

Responsibilities:

  • Support construction managers and service managers with their construction support needs.

  • Coordinate construction billing with service shops, admins, and the credit department.

  • Ensure revenue and cost are properly matched.

  • Accrue and manage construction work in process.

  • Ensure all construction costs are correctly allocated to respective projects.

  • Review and approve contractor pre-payments.

  • Monitor final vendor payment applications ensuring proper execution of lien releases and prevailing wage reports, if applicable.

  • Track contractor certificates of insurance.

  • Support new contractor setup ensuring all requirements are met and agreements executed.

  • Maintain and renew Contractors License list.

  • Enter service AP invoices ensuring proper coding and payment terms.

  • Support service field personnel in paying vendors via credit cards and preparing credit applications if necessary.

  • Monitor service shop lease renewals (35 active leases) and assist in lease renewals or new contracts.

  • Assist AP to ensure landlord payments are timely and correct.

  • Review vehicle lease payments ensuring correct coding and comparing actual expenses versus budget for forecasting purposes.

  • Verify revenue and cost match on non-construction service revenue.

  • Create monthly tech hours report.

  • Create and enter weekly and month-end journal entries.

  • Support the service business with ad-hoc reporting and analysis.

  • Respond to general ledger inquiries.

Required Skills:

  • 2+ years of full-cycle accounting experience.

  • Proficiency in accounting, accounts payable, general ledger, reconciliation, month-end processes, journal entries, and financial statements.

  • Associates Degree Or Bachelors Degree in Accounting or related field required

  • Experience in construction or manufacturing accounting is preferred but not required.

  • Knowledge in construction accounting, cost accounting, and work in process (WIP) management.

Work Environment:

This is a part-time role, requiring 20-30 hours per week, fully in-office. The office environment is well-known for its family atmosphere, with a finance team that is quiet and focused, and an HR team that is lively and upbeat. The building is only 3 years old and has been completely remodeled, providing a modern and comfortable workspace.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
