Then NMC Health is the place for you and our busy oriented central billing officelooking for a knowledgeable team payer to join our clinic billing staff as a full-timeBlue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) Insurance Biller - Physician Claims. The right candidate should have HCFA-1500 billing experience, overall knowledge of 3rd party players and understanding of healthcare business office procedures. Meditech and SSI experience preferred. Some functions of theBCBS Billerinclude preparing, reviewing and electronically transmitting claims in a timely manner using electronic billing software; following up on unpaid claims; investigating denials and troubleshooting problems; staying up-to-date on BCBS professional billing rules and regulations.

This is an on-campus position (not remote). No weekends, no holidays, and no on call.

\

As of 1/21/22, NMC Health requires all employees to be vaccinated unless a medical or religious exemption is needed.

Qualifications

Education & experience:

\ \

- - High school diploma or GED required

\

- - College or vocational training is preferred

\

- - Minimum two years of medical insurance billing and follow-up experience, preferably BCBS

\

- - Customer service experience required

\

- - Medical Billing Office or Patient Access experience required

\

- - Meditech experience preferred

\ \

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

\ \

- - Knowledge of current CMS billing guidelines and reimbursement procedures preferred

\

- - Medical billing terminology required

\

- - CPT and ICD-10 coding knowledge preferred

\

- - Organized, self-motivated with strong attention to detail

\

- - Ability to apply common sense and logic in the performance of job duties

\

- - Manage varying duties and multiple tasks

\

- - Effective written and verbal communication skills for effective contact with insurances in order to resolve issues

\

- - Customer service for interacting with patients and family members

\

- - Mathematic skills required

\

- - Proficient with computers, learning new software, 10-key adding machine

\

- - Microsoft knowledge required

\

- - Bilingual English and Spanish preferred

\

- - Self-motivated and goal oriented
