This position reports to the Health Information Management (HIM), Manager.
This position is hourly (non-exempt).
Position Summary:
- This position must feel comfortable interacting with physicians and case managers
- Must be competent in diagnosis coding rules and able to identify clinical criteria to help validate diagnoses
- Must be able to assist providers with documenting to the highest level of specificity in medical record
- Must be able to query the provider when there is a conflict or inconsistency between clinical criteria and physician documentation
- Help provider appeal denials concurrently through peer-to-peer or written appeal
- This is not a remote position
