Cardiac Monitor Technician in Olathe, Kansas

Job Summary:

We welcome you to join the team as a Cardiac Monitor Technician. In this role, you will monitor noninvasive cardiac activity and other clinical parameters of patient populations ranging from adolescence to geriatric by continuous electrocardiographic display and pulse oximetry. The technician is able to interpret the rhythm and preforms critical alarm hand off with the nursing unit appropriately The technician also maintains data related to the monitoring and provides daily reports for the patients' permanent medical record via electronic shift report directly into the EMR.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School or GED Minimum

  • Other: Certified Cardiovascular Technician School or comparable certification Preferred

  • Previous Healthcare Experience Holter scanning, stress testing or telemetry experience Preferred

  • Healthcare Provider CPR – (American Heart Association or American Red Cross ONLY) Minimum 7 Days

  • Other: CRAT-Certified Rhythm Analysis Technician Preferred

    Key Responsibilities:

  • Promptly addresses clinical alarms and responds appropriately.

  • Performs job duties in a manner to consistently improve the patient experience and minimize delays.

  • Consistently demonstrates cost savings activities: Minimize supply waste. Demonstrates ability to prioritize and manage time efficiently. Offers suggestions for cost savings

  • Demonstrates knowledge of departmental information by: regularly attending staff meetings, reading email information, attending departmental in-service offerings, reading communication books, reviewing available literature and resource material.

  • Takes appropriate action in emergency situations, i.e., code blue, MRT, code orange, etc.

  • Demonstrates appropriate and effective conflict resolution skills. Step 1: Addresses issues with individuals involved in a courteous and professional manner. Step 2: Escalates issues to appropriate Unit Coordinator / Manager, as necessary.
