Actalent Civil Designer in Olathe, Kansas

Job Title: Civil Designer

Description

  • Perform civil engineering design tasks (grading, drainage, paving, geometric design, utility design).

  • Develop design alternatives and solutions for sections, alignments, right-of-way, and cost.

  • Assist in the design and development of site plans, water/wastewater, infrastructure, and transportation projects.

  • Coordinate with engineers and technicians; review and recommend changes to drawings.

  • Prepare civil engineering drawings for land development using AutoCAD Civil 3D.

  • Collaborate with the design team to prepare AutoCAD drawings from sketches.

  • Develop drawings into completed project plans.

  • Perform basic civil layout and design tasks (plan and profiles, slope calculations, grading, cross sections, drainage).

  • Prepare section cuts, profiles, and cross sections from plan views.

  • Perform support tasks (plotting drawings, making submittals, spreadsheet work, proofreading).

  • Draft construction details and determine construction quantities.

  • Address permitting agency comments and communicate with agencies, utility companies, and contractors.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00
