Garmin Cloud Administrator in Olathe, Kansas

Our expanding IT team is looking for a full-time Cloud Administrator for our Olathe, KS headquarters. In this role, you will perform and plan the management and administration of cloud public and private VMware based services and technologies. You will work with team members to ensure technology is effectively supporting enterprise systems and share knowledge with other IT associates.\n\n \n\nPerforms system monitoring, analyzing, documenting performance, and conducting trend analysis as required \n\n\n\n\t\n\tIdeal candidates for this role will possess the following experience and abilities:\n\t\n\t\n\tManage system requirements and derived requirements to ensure the system is compatible with defined architecture and meets customer needs\n\t\n\t\n\tVMware administration responsible for configuration, maintenance, monitoring, and overall support of multiple VMware environments\n\t\n\t\n\tExperience installing and supporting VMware ESXi 6x, vRA, VROP’s to include HA, DRS, vMotion, DVS, and update manager\n\t\n\t\n\tPerform Systems Lifecycle management for all equipment, including planning, implementation, maintenance, upgrades, consolidation, and decommissioning of enterprise hardware, and software\n\t\n\t\n\tExperience with public and private hybrid cloud deployments and operational administration\n\t\n\n\n\n \n\nOther responsibilities and key functions will include:\n\n\n\n\t\n\tContributes to technical research on new technologies, processes or procedures\n\t\n\t\n\tContinuously develop technical subject matter expertise on established and emerging container, server, storage, load balancer, and open source systems and other server technologies.\n\t\n\t\n\tCommunicate effectively regarding system operations and environment changes\n\t\n\t\n\tAdhere to SOX, PCI, and other regulatory requirements as governing standards\n\t\n\t\n\tUnderstands and avoids capacity, redundancy, and health constraints of container, server, storage, load balancer, and other paid and open source systems\n\t\n\t\n\tEnsures that all security requirements are met or exceeded\n\t\n\t\n\tProvides technical input to solution development plans and concept documents\n\t\n\t\n\tDemonstrates understanding of business impacts of issues and how they relate to IT owned solutions\n\t\n\t\n\tCommunicates effectively in written and verbal form in a cross-functional setting with business partners\n\t\n\t\n\tExemplifies Garmin’s Mission Statement and Quality Policy and proactively works to improve Garmin’s culture\n\t\n\t\n\tDesign and implement effective monitoring of enterprise systems\n\t\n\t\n\tTunes systems using experience and knowledge of area\n\t\n\t\n\tForesees risks and communicates and mitigates before problems arise\n\t\n\t\n\tDocuments technical designs and procedures for team library\n\t\n\t\n\tCommunicates technology effectively to non-technical associates and management\n\t\n\t\n\tRecognizes and understands technology impacts within the business\n\t\n\t\n\tConsistently looks at the opportunity in all changes\n\t\n\t\n\tGives and receives feedback in a constructive manner\n\t\n\t\n\tProvides 24x7 on-call rotation support for critical Linux systems \n\t\n\n Qualified candidates will possess a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Business or another relevant field AND a minimum of 2 years relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
