Job Description
This role includes exposure to driver and equipment management, customer service, and transportation logistics. You will maintain a high level of engagement and cultivate positive working relationships with your fleet of assigned drivers. Your daily tasks will include reviewing scheduled pick-up and delivery appointments, confirming that each driver is fully informed of all customer and company expectations at the point of dispatch, and coordinating drivers’ scheduled home time, downtime, current status, and predicted time available. Additionally, you will address safety non-conformance and violations/incidents, and escalate matters impacting on-time delivery to appropriate departments as they occur.
Responsibilities
Engage and build positive relationships with assigned drivers.
Review scheduled pick-up and delivery appointments daily.
Ensure drivers are fully informed of all customer and company expectations at dispatch.
Coordinate drivers’ scheduled home time, downtime, current status, and predicted time available.
Address safety non-conformance and violations/incidents.
Escalate matters impacting on-time delivery to appropriate departments as they occur.
Spend the majority of the day making and receiving calls.
Issue disciplinary actions to drivers when needed.
Work Environment
This is a full-time, in-office position located in south Olathe, KS.
Training will be Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm for the first 60 days, with the first month in a classroom setting.
Following training, schedules will be
Monday – Friday, 5:00am – 3:00pm;
OR Monday – Friday, 7:00am – 5:00pm;
OR Weekends Friday – Monday, 5:00am – 5:00pm.
The role involves sitting at a desk with a headset on all day, handling a heavy phone workload.
Interviews for this role will take place the week of November 18th; estimated start date of December 2nd.
