Garmin eCAD Librarian (PCB) in Olathe, Kansas
We are seeking a full-time eCAD Librarian at our world headquarters in Olathe, Kansas (a suburb of Kansas City). In this role you will be responsible for creating parts and archiving them to the global eCAD library for use in Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Designs for all of Garmin’s segments worldwide. Other essential functions include:
Maintain and support a global library database within established Garmin standards:
Works closely with Design Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, Component Engineers, and Process Engineers to Create schematic symbols and PCB component footprints
Publish library parts to the global eCAD library within established Garmin standards for use by the Design Engineers across the Organization.
Process CAD Library requests for new parts and analyze/modify existing library parts for improved readability of the schematic or manufacturability of the component footprint.
Verify and validate schematic symbols and physical footprints for parts created by other librarians for accuracy and compliance with Garmin standards.
Participate in the usability, testing, and validation of the library change control system and process.
Assist with user support of the tools and processes used for the library change control system.
Demonstrates a sense of urgency, commitment, and focus on the right priorities.

Qualified candidates possess a Technical School Diploma or 3 years’ experience in the electronic assembly or repair field and demonstrate an understanding of surface mount and through hole electronic components. Other requirements include:
Demonstrates proficiency using eCAD tools
Must demonstrate an ability to interpret Manufacturer Data Sheets
Demonstrates knowledge of PCB manufacturing processes
Must demonstrate proficiency using personal computers and Microsoft Office applications
Previous experience with library part creation and Cadence are highly preferred!
