Forget “special projects” for newbies, our project manager interns work side-by-side with a mentor, making hands-on contributions to the world’s top-selling GPS navigation and wireless communication products. We are looking for a full time Engineering Business Analyst Intern to gather, document and communicate user requirements for small to medium size projects of average complexity at our headquarters location in Olathe, KS. Work closely with the project team, including product/process owner to ensure requirements are understood and deliverables are aligned with project objectives. Other essential functions include:
Demonstrate understanding of business analysis principles/methodologies and apply them to development of basic user requirements
Manage user, functional and technical requirements for small to medium size projects of average complexity
Identify and contribute to the resolution of basic discrepancies and conflicts in application requirements
Assist in resolving missing or conflicting requirements of basic scope among multiple stakeholders
Work closely with project team, including product owner to ensure requirements are understood and deliverables are aligned with project objectives
Offer suggestions to improve business processes to the product owner and to more experienced Engineering Business Analysts
Execute plan made by supervisor or mentor; may plan own documentation and analysis
Thoroughly document work in organized manner in accordance with Garmin and engineering standards
Work collaboratively and professionally in a team environment with other Garmin associates to achieve goals
Applies standards and procedures to accomplish tasks
Learns how to use and apply appropriate tools as needed for this role
Works collaboratively and professionally in a team environment with other Garmin associates to achieve goals
Accept and act on constructive feedback
Qualified candidates will possess Completed coursework in a technical discipline, or possess an equivalent combination of education and/or experience relevant for successful performance of the essential functions of this job description with a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA. Other requirements include:
Must be detail-oriented and have the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
Demonstrated ability to prioritize and multi-task in a flexible, fast paced and challenging environment
Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
