Olathe Medical Center, Inc, a 300-bed general acute care facility is currently looking for a LPN (Hospice House) professional to join our team.
Position Description: The LPN works under the supervision of the Registered Nurse (RN) in providing patient care to assigned hospice patients. The LPN is responsible for assuring a safe, effective care environment, including the coordination of care, safety, and infection control. He/She collaborates with others to integrate assessment and input of the patient, family and interdisciplinary team. The LPN provides guidance to others regarding practice, and may serve as a resource and mentor. The LPN integrates and communicates knowledge and sensitivity to the patient's psychosocial, spiritual, cultural and age specific needs. He/She practices within the boundaries of the Kansas Nurse Practice Act and organizational/departmental policies and procedures.
Position Requirements: Education: Graduation from an accredited licensed practical nurse program required
Experience: 1 - 3 Years required Hospice experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills: Required: Organizational, Verbal Communication, Ability to Multi Task and Prioritize, Customer Relations, Critical thinking/reasoning
License, Registration and/or Certification: Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) licensure in accordance with the Kansas Nurse Licensure Compact required upon hire Healthcare Provider CPR – (American Heart Association or American Red Cross ONLY) required within 7 days from date of hire IV Certification preferred
