This position is in Cargill’s agricultural supply chain business. We sit at the heart of the supply chain, partnering with farmers and customers to source, make and deliver essential products.

Job Purpose and Impact

The Merchant Assistant will provide administrative support to the trading desks. In this role, you will prepare routine reporting, commodity pricing, profit and loss estimates and other supporting duties.

Key Accountabilities

  • Maintain and cultivate established relationships with small accounts, customers, clients, suppliers and other business partners.

  • Collaborate closely with various business partners, including supply chain and field team to achieve origination objectives.

  • Prepare reports and conduct competitive analysis, such as, pricing sheets, regular origination reporting, reconciliation for positions, as well as profit and loss estimates.

  • Handle moderately complex clerical, administrative, technical or customer support issues under general supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma, secondary education level or equivalent

  • Minimum of two years of related work experience

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Currently in the third year of university studies or have graduated from a university program.
