To be successful in this role you will need to be confident and possess a strong technical background with proven leadership skills. You will manage projects, prepare reports and other deliverables, and review documents prepared by others for accuracy, completeness, and quality following company standards. You will also lead local and regional environmental compliance marketing efforts; maintain existing and develop new client relationships; and train, mentor, and direct staff on projects. You will serve as a local point of contact for Environmental Compliance services and provide support on regional and national projects and pursuits
General Responsibilities:
Responsible for the management of large scale, national programs for an Engineering Consulting firm that may include one or more of the following areas: Energy, Transportation, Oil & Gas, Environmental, Geotechnical, or Federal programs.
Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
Lead development and focus on consulting for national, large scale programs for the service line or business sector services which may include Federal, Transportation, gINT, and Asbestos/Industrial Hygiene.
Serve as a senior project manager for key projects overseeing and coordinating resources from multiple service lines and offices across the company.
Manage new client development and grow sales for defined group of existing clients including diversification of service provided.
Provide input into the overall strategy for the service line or business sector and execute the goals.
Provide technical leadership on key projects; when needed be responsible for the overall project and performance.
Direct the efforts of the largest project client pursuits including strategy and facilitation.
Lead interactions with client, stakeholders and project managers to ensure the projects are being coordinated to meet the needs of the client and stakeholders.
Manage risk related to projects. Ensure contracts are signed and fully executed prior to commencing work. Monitor adherence to corporate risk policies and practices. Hold managers accountable for mitigating or eliminating risk.
Communicate safety initiatives, rules and guidelines for office or region. Hold managers and employees accountable for following safety rules and guidelines.
Promote continuous quality monitoring and improvement on projects. Ensure best practices are being followed and hold Managers accountable for quality control standards.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science or Geology and 15 years’ related experience. Or, in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 19 years’ related experience.
Strong environmental or engineering consulting and client development background with a specific area of environmental or engineering expertise.
Experience in client engagement, proposal writing, and commercial agreements.
Obtain Authorized Project Reviewer status by Terracon within one year.
Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.
Preferred Certification:
- Professional Geologist (PG) or Professional Engineer (PE) designation.
