Job Title: Press Brake Operator

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Press Brake Operator for our fabrication shop. The role requires general fabrication skills and at least one year of experience with press brake operations. The position involves working with various metals, including steel, stainless steel, aluminum, brass, and copper, using an Amada Press Brake. The operator will be responsible for running the plasma cutting machine and other shop machinery as needed, without the need for physical plasma cutting, welding, or additional protective gear such as a hood or gloves.

Responsibilities

  • Operate an Amada Press Brake to cut through electrically conductive materials.

  • Upload code and operate the plasma cutting machine.

  • Run metals through machinery for cutting purposes.

  • Consistently lift 50+ lbs of heavy industrial products.

  • Work with other shop machinery, including plasma tables and CNC lasers, as needed.

  • Ensure accurate measurements and cuts using tape measures and blueprints.

Essential Skills

  • At least one year of experience with press brake operations.

  • General fabrication skills.

  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs consistently.

  • Familiarity with operating an Amada Press Brake.

  • Experience with plasma cutting and CNC laser operations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Welding experience.

  • Machining skills.

  • Machine operation experience.

  • Proficiency as a saw operator.

Work Environment

The Press Brake Operator will work within the fabrication shop, primarily operating machinery rather than directly fabricating materials. The role does not require welding or physical plasma cutting, eliminating the need for a hood or gloves. The work environment is mostly within the machine shop, focused on running and maintaining various cutting machines.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of OLATHE, Kansas.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00
