Position Description: To demonstrate skills and competencies in performing all security functions. Have knowledge and understanding on how to operate all security equipment, computers, monitors, radios, telephones, security vehicles and access controls and video equipment. Will appropriately respond to call for assistance and investigate all incidents of unusual circumstances. Ability to apply appropriate physical intervention when combative patients or others represent risks to themselves or others. Ensure documentation is completed appropriately and accurately. Provide customer service and assistance when request. Perform routine task and appropriately respond to the facility's emergency codes. Participate and complete training in PPE use and IAHSS and achieve a passing score. Officers will be trained and competent to carry and use TASER's, wear Bodycams and appropriately engage in the safe control of violent persons.
Education: High School or GED - Minimum
Experience: 1 - 3 Years - Minimum More than 5 Years - Preferred Other: Military, law enforcement, or armed security experience preferred. Healthcare Security Experience preferred. Skills:
Analytical - Minimum Organizational - Minimum Verbal Communication - Minimum Ability to Multi Task and Prioritize - Preferred Licenses/Certifications:
Valid Drivers Licenses - Upon Hire International Association of Hospital Safety & Security Basic Certification - Due in 180 Days Taser qualified. Appropriate qualification course provided by Olathe Health - Due in 60 Days Training/Competencies:
Fit for Duty fitness testing. To be successfully completed at hire, and then annually thereafter - Upon Hire Successful completion of pre-employment psychiatric evaluation - Upon Hire Officers will be required to attend and successfully complete Safe Training and Responsible Restraint (S.T.A.R.R.) training within 6 months of hire date.
