Honeywell is seeking a talented Global Repair & Overhaul Engineer (GROE) in the role of Advanced Electrical Engineer to support our Avionics Repair & Overhaul (R&O) business by driving cost reduction, repair capability expansion, and innovative engineering solutions. This role is based at the Honeywell Olathe Service Center within the Americas Service Center (ASC) network, part of the Honeywell Aerospace Integrated Supply Chain (ISC).
WORK SCHEDULE: Flexible work schedule with a preference to 5 days onsite as needed

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Use advanced avionics knowledge and engineering discipline to complete engineering tasks
• Introduce & lead creative and innovative solutions for test capacity and test time reduction to enable productivity
• Lead site critical test equipment plan right from design to maintenance with robust plans and road maps
• Drive projects having global functional involvement like test engineering product engineering and NPIs teams.
• Drive Capital needs for test equipment productivity improvement to drive significant through put.
• Work with global teams and develop action plans to drive all value engineering projects
• Able to develop and modify test software and possible automations to reduce manual testing and improve labor efficiencies.
• Identify opportunities for repair cost reduction and manage projects from solution development through deployment
• Expand avionics repair capability by developing and deploying new repair processes, and lead the entry-into-service process for repair of newly developed products
• Introduce new technology and find new applications of existing technology to improve repair shop business performance
• Lead effort between avionics product design engineering, test design engineering, and service center staff to resolve issues with product modification, upgrades, investigations, and repair of test equipment
• Actively seek out and identify areas to standardize avionics repair and test procedures across sites for productivity improvements
• Lead cross-functional teams through the Corrective Action Request (CAR) process and negotiate solutions to prevent defects from being introduced into product repair processes
• Communicate directly with internal and external customers and suppliers about status on resolutions for problems such as repair delivery disruptions, no-fault-found situations, warranty review, and first-year-in-service failures
• Perform avionics bench test system troubleshooting and repairs, and implement engineering solutions to prevent test equipment down-time
• Convince internal customers to fund capital purchases by using quantified business impacts such as ROI, payback period, and NPV
• Mentor junior engineers while defining and revising engineering processes for the GROE team
U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS:
Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization
YOU MUST HAVE:
•Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
•5+ years of experience working in the avionics or electronics industry
WE VALUE:
•Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering or Master Degree
•10+ years of experience working in the avionics or electronics industry
•Timely decisions in the face of complexity while balancing analysis with decisiveness
•Experience in running and managing test resources tools and processes right from Design to sunset of test equipment
•Ability to estimate business impact of engineering solutions
•Self-motivation and ability to work with little supervision while resolving complex situations and problems
•Knowledge of avionics products and systems such as cockpit displays, electromechanical instruments, flight controls, FMS, autopilot, inertial navigation, GPS, DME, ILS, nav/com radios, satcom, radio altimeters, weather radar, transponders, TCAS, EGPWS, and flight recorders
•Understanding of FAR 21 (OEM) and FAR 145 (repair) regulation concepts
•Familiarity with guidelines DO-178, DO-254 and DO-160
•Understanding of product and test system configuration management
•Ability to learn and comply with import and export regulations (EAR and ITAR)
