Description

We're looking for people who are driven by a challenging work environment with many components. The Staff Accountant will prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. This role is for someone who wants to perform internal reporting during the monthly close, participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules reporting processes. What you get to do every day
Partake in various department-wide initiatives
Compose analyses for income statements and monthly balance sheets for management reporting
Organize schedules for monthly payments and capital lease
Handle intercompany transactions, billings, and reconciliation
Maintain depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation
Periodically maintain and reconcile journal entries
In-depth knowledge of reconciling month end balance sheet accounts
Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls. Also ensure that accounting procedures comply with GAAP
Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll
Produce journal entries and perform the month end close under minimal supervision
Ad hoc reporting and performing special projects upon request
Survey and organize various financial data, reporting it in a useful and understandable manner
Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process by preparing monthly financial close workbooks
Requirements
Candidate must possess first-rate analytical, quantitative and social skills
Great attention to detail
Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus
Foundational knowledge in journal entries
Month-end Close Activities experience preferred
Fixed Asset Accounting experience
Bank reconciliations experience desired
NetSuite experience highly desired
Competent with spreadsheets and databases
Ability to complete multiple tasks and projects within deadlines
Fully formed organizational, written and verbal communication skills
2+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
