This position may require you to work weekends. A negative drug screen is required as a condition of employment. The purpose of the Licensed Practical Nurse position is to administers medication/treatments accurately and timely and documents such to ensure quality patient care. Report effectiveness of medication and/or untoward effect of medication to prevent patient harm as well as any unintended or unpredictable effects to maximize patient treatment by informing RN. Evaluates patients need for PRN medication, gives specialized care as ordered by the physician. Interacts frequently with patients and provides informal one-to-ones to promote a therapeutic milieu, communicate with other staff members so that pertinent information essential to provide quality patient care is shared. The essential functions of this position require physical strength to frequently push, pull, twist, bend, squat, walk, stand for extended periods of time, lift and/or restrain residents with or without assistance and respond to aggressive resident behavior with specific, trained techniques. Must be able to observe and respond to residents in distress. Osawatomie State Hospital Adair Acute Care is funded in part by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and is subject to requirements bestowed by Federal and State levels of government conditions of participation. Qualifications: Education: LPN Program Licensing & Certification: Drivers License, State of Kansas LPN License Minimum Qualifications: State of Kansas Minimum Requirements: Licensed to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the State of Kansas and one-year experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
