Purpose of the position

Purpose of Position:

Kalmar Solution is seeking a Development Engineer, Mechatronics Intern to be based in Ottawa, KS. for the Summer 2025! The Development Engineer, Mechatronics Intern is responsible for the development and coordination of software design for Electronics, Controls and Mechatronics regarding Terminal Tractor (TT) within Mobile Equipment division (MED) based on customer needs, legislation and internal requirements and according to business strategies.

Main tasks and responsibilities

· Develop controls designs for our TT product line using function blocks, structured text, and other development tools.

· Develop Network Databases.

· Document vehicle network topologies by implementing with guidance from TT RDE team

· Learn current vehicle architecture and support planning upgrades.

· Ensures the use of engineering standards, methodologies and global product development processes into

engineering team’s daily work tasks.

What you’ll need to succeed

Education:

· High School diploma or equivalent required

· Pursuing a Bachelor degree in mechanical, electrical, or computer science engineering

Competencies:

· Preferred skills: C++, VBA, PC Software Applications and any other software development tools.

· Strong aptitude toward electrical, controls and mechatronic design

· Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.

· Proficient in the use of Google suite software including Sheets, Docs, and Slides.

· Strong work ethic, dependable

· High Attention to Detail
