Shift : Monday – Thursday 8:00am – 1:00pm

The role you’ll contribute:

The Lead Phlebotomist is responsible for collection of blood samples, through the use of standard venipuncture and microtainer techniques. Receives laboratory specimens and processes samples for Laboratory testing. Performs clerical and client service functions in the Laboratory as requested.

The value you’ll bring to the team:

  • Responsible for the care and safety of patients undergoing treatment and use of equipment to minimize hazards of electric shock, burns and extraneous radiation to patients.

  • Ability to perform venipuncture and microtainer collection.

  • Ensure specimens are correctly labeled and orders are received.

  • Ability to properly prioritize routine specimen receipt in the laboratory on a “first in – first out” basis.

  • Stat and Alert specimens are prioritized before routine orders.

  • Supports leadership with daily workflow and problem resolution.

  • Mentors’ new employees and ensures competency documentation is completed.

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

  • High School degree or equivalent required.

  • One (1) year of hospital-based phlebotomy experience required.

  • Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

  • PBT (ASCP) or equivalent required.

  • Completion of a phlebotomy training program, Preferred.
