Compensation Data
Base Salary: Starting @ $58,000.00 per year (paid hourly and eligible for overtime pay)
Offering sign-on bonus
Eligible for Annual Bonus
Eligible for annual salary review/increase
Purpose of the position
The Payroll Administrator’s role is to manage Kalmar’s payroll process to ensure employees are paid timely & accurately, maintain compliance with federal, state and local payroll tax regulations and assist employees with payroll related inquiries/issues.
Main tasks and responsibilities
Manage multi-state payroll using Paycor payroll system
Calculate pay and verify amounts: ensure employees are paid accurately and timely; including regular wages/salaries, overtime compensation, commissions, bonuses, deductions and withholdings, pay raises, etc.
Maintain records: Keep up to date records of employee pay rates, salaries, hours worked and ensure relevant data is maintained in payroll database and supporting systems.
Manage timesheet processes – upload, review as necessary, post.
Calculate and handle accruals for 401k, PTO, etc. as required by current business model
Assist with ad-hoc reporting and analysis
Support accounting with general ledger actionable reports
Support outsourced Payroll Tax processes– Register, Review, Reconcile, and Resolution of any issues
Team Collaboration: Support colleagues through full cross training of payroll responsibilities, Coordinate with HR team to support all services for the US business units
Ensure compliance with Kalmar Code of Conduct, internal control, established practices, legal, regulatory and other policies, laws and procedures.
Support and promote Kalmar’s process-driven way of working
Control and ensure global standardization and best practices.
Ensure continuous improvement and development.
Support cost and process efficiency
Other duties as assigned
What you’ll need to succeed
Education:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred
High School diploma or equivalent required
Certified Payroll Professional Certification (CPP) Fundamental Payroll Professional (FPC) preferred, not required
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years multi-state payroll environment covering a minimum of 10 states.
Competencies:
Good team work, communication and presentation skills
Ability to work with remote teams
Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills
High attention to detail, organized, good time management skills
Ability to work with multicultural team, holistic viewpoint
Technical Competencies: Paycor (preferred), MS Office, Google Suite, ServiceNow (or any ticketing system
