Account Service Coordinator

Work location: Los Angeles, CA

Responsible for supporting the renewal efforts of Large Group business. Able to step in as the primary customer contact for retention of large local group business to respond to broker needs and decision makers during the negotiation and renewal process, as well as throughout the year.

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Collaborates with and supports the Account Executive with the execution of account management and retention strategy for a defined book of accounts.

  • Responsible for growing Specialty Business within existing accounts. Identifies opportunities for penetration.

  • Provides support for Account Management staff with RFP responses, proposals, client presentations, and underwriting coordination on up-sell opportunities.

  • Sells, promotes, and influences brokers to add additional products or services to the existing account.

  • Develops business relationships with brokers, consultants, and key decision makers in order to meet or exceed renewal and upsell sales targets.

  • Able to manage the annual renewal process for accounts, including underwriting negotiation, preparation of renewal analysis, and client/broker presentations.

  • Negotiates with the broker and Underwriting regarding the price or rates for specific plans and options, and developing alternative plans or modifications to lower the rates.

  • Oversee ongoing broker and client needs, including reporting, maintaining client databases, obtaining and providing needed documents, and case implementation, ensuring all items are handled appropriately.

  • Own and manage broker and customer engagement and issue resolution.

Requires a BA/BS; 3 years of experience in account management or sales; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

  • Sales license required or secured during first three months.

  • Account management experience preferred.
